De muziek is gebaseerd op de traditionele volksmuziek uit Kareli\u00eb.<\/p>\n<p>In de loop der jaren heeft de band veel ontwikkelingen meegemaakt; wisseling van leden en muzikanten, verandering van muziekstijl, er werden rockelementen toegevoegd, maar de muziek is nog steeds gebaseerd op de finse folkmuziek en de teksten zijn vaak gebaseerd op de Karelisch gedichten.<\/p>\n<p>V\u00e4rttin\u00e4\u2019s laatse studio album &#8220;Viena&#8221; (2016) is gebaseerd op een trip naar de russische folkloredorpjes in Viena Karelia, waar ze ontoetingen hadden met de laatst overgebleven &#8220;runo&#8221; zangers in die streek.
